前言（Preface）
今年是上苑艺术馆“国际创作计划”的第十届。本届于 2016年12月30日截止申请，共收到47个国家，1713名申请人的资料。通过多次筛选，最终我们从136名候选人中，选出50名优秀艺术家，他们将从4月到10月，在此交流与创作。
This year is the 10th International Residency Program of Shangyuan Art Museum. Until the deadline of the application, December 30th, 2016, we have received 1713 applications from 47 countries.Through screening, we finally selected 50 outstanding artists from the top 136 candidates to participate our Residency Program from April to October.
上苑艺术馆，作为全球最大的非盈利性艺术驻留机构，意在构筑艺术的桥梁，不仅增进外国艺术家与中国艺术家之间艺术创作、思想观念上的相互了解，而且为艺术家创造对于其他类型艺术的跨界认识的机会，相互吸收、相互碰撞，启迪创作的灵感，推进艺术探索的深度。
Shangyuan Art Museum is running one of the biggest non-profit art residency program in the world. We aim to establish a bridge between different disciplines of art. We do not only improve the understanding of art and related ideas between foreign and Chinese artists, but also try to create a space where artists from different disciplines can come together to know each other, draw inspiration from each other, and in the end, deepen their understanding and further their artistic exploration.
每一位决意驻馆的艺术家都是有其艺术追求的，他们用不同媒介表达自我对于世界的独特认识，他们的艺术成果自带光晕。他们在驻馆之前的创作形态如何，他们在这里又将创作出什么，这对应开幕展与闭幕展，是上苑艺术馆“国际创作计划”两大固定的精彩看点。欢迎各界人士莅临参观。
Every resident artist has his or her unique way of pursuing art. He uses his own medium to express his individuality and his understanding of the world. How is his work differs before and after the residency? That is exactly what will be reflected in our Opening and Ending Exhibition. And they are the most fascinating events of the Residency Program. We warmly invite you to come to the exhibitions.
